How LeafBlox Gutter Guards Work
LeafBlox uses a cylindrical brush that fills the inside of the gutter with stiff polypropylene bristles. Leaves and larger debris are held above the gutter channel while rainwater passes between the bristles and continues toward the downspout.
The LeafBlox Brush-Guard Principle
Each LeafBlox section uses stiff black polypropylene bristles secured around a galvanized steel wire core. The properly sized brush fills the gutter opening rather than resting on brackets, screens, or end supports.
Leaves, twigs, pine needles, and other larger debris are intercepted by the bristles. Rainwater can pass down between those bristles into the gutter channel and continue toward the downspout.
What LeafBlox Does
- Fills the gutter opening with dense brush bristles
- Helps block leaves, twigs, pine needles, and larger debris
- Allows rainwater to pass through the brush
- Directs water into the existing gutter and downspout system
- Requires no screws, nails, drilling, or roof penetration
- Can be removed when gutter maintenance is needed
Why Filling the Gutter Matters
LeafBlox is selected to closely match the inside size of the gutter. The brush bristles occupy the available gutter opening, helping prevent bulky debris from dropping past the guard while still leaving thousands of small spaces between the bristles for water to move through.
Because the brush sits directly inside the gutter, there is no separate screen, cover, or support structure that must be permanently attached to the roof or fascia.
Water Flows Through the Brush
Rainwater reaching the gutter passes through the polypropylene bristles and into the gutter channel below. From there, the existing pitch of the gutter carries the water toward the downspout. LeafBlox does not require water to travel over a solid cover or around an exposed edge before entering the gutter.
Proper gutter pitch, adequate downspout capacity, and routine maintenance remain important because LeafBlox does not change the hydraulic capacity of the underlying gutter system.
No Drilling or Roof Penetration
LeafBlox simply sits inside the gutter. Installation does not require screws, nails, drilling, or fastening through the roofing material, fascia, or gutter body.
Sections can be removed when maintenance is necessary, cleaned, and returned to the gutter.
Simple. Effective. Serviceable.
The system is intentionally simple: choose the correct brush size, clean the existing gutter, place LeafBlox inside the gutter, and keep the gutter and downspouts serviceable as part of normal building maintenance.
What LeafBlox Does Not Replace
LeafBlox does not correct gutters that are improperly pitched, undersized, damaged, clogged, or served by inadequate downspouts. Existing gutters should be clean, securely installed, and draining correctly before LeafBlox is installed.
LeafBlox is gutter protection, not a rooftop snow-retention system. Roofs requiring snow guards or snow rails should use a separately designed snow-retention system.
